PR boyfriend vs family pressure?

We’ve been together 3 years, almost bought a BTO flat together, but my mum keeps dropping hints like, ‘Can he even sponsor you if things go south?’ He’s a PR, stable job, Chinese, same dialect group — on paper he’s good, but not a citizen so my family acts like he’s second-class. Last time never like this one, even my younger brother told me ‘better wait for someone with blue NRIC’. We had a fight about it last week, he said he feels like a guest in my own home. I love him, but every family dinner feels like I’m choosing between them and him. What do I do? It’s not fair to him, but also… am I being selfish to go against my parents? They’re not even that strict with my cousins who married foreigners, but he’s *right here*, contributing, paying his taxes — why isn’t that enough? Go already and register HDB, then see? But scared one day I’ll regret not listening to family. Anybody been through this? Sia lor.
