How do I surprise her if she needs two weeks' notice?
So I wanted to book a last-minute weekend in Prague — flights were cheap, I got excited, thought it’d be fun. But when I mentioned it to my partner, she just stared at me like I’d asked her to jump off a bridge. She said she needs at least two weeks’ notice for something like that — calendar, therapy sessions, her cat’s feeding schedule, all of it has to line up. Look — I get planning. Hell, I’m German, of course I do. But zero spontaneity? We’ve been together 18 months and every single thing is scheduled — date night, sex, even laughs feel timed. I love her, but sometimes it’s like we’re running a joint project meeting, not a relationship. Last week I tried to suggest drive somewhere with no destination. She asked if I’d checked the motor oil first. I’m not joking. Is this just compatibility — maybe my Aries fire vs her Virgo precision — or are we speaking different emotional languages? I don’t want to push her out of her comfort zone just to suit me… but a little surprise now and then shouldn’t feel illegal.
