Rejected due to horoscope?

2

I'm still trying to process what just happened my family and I were talking to this really great girl, we all loved her, she's kind and caring and we all thought she'd be perfect for me but then they found out our horoscopes didn't match and just like that they shut down the whole idea I'm talking to my mom about it and she's just saying stuff like 'it's not meant to be' and 'the stars aren't aligned' I'm like mom I'm a lesbian not some character in a fairy tale I want someone who loves me for who I am not because of some astrological sign we were really clicking too, it felt so right but I guess that doesn't matter to them I feel like I'm being forced to choose between my family and my own happiness which is so unfair I just wish they could see how happy she makes me

my parents did the same thing when I was seeing someone in college — pulled the 'stars aren't aligned' card like it was a death sentence. I was furious. I told them if the universe really had a problem with us, it could come down and say it to my face... We argued for weeks. What finally helped was me asking my mom — really calmly — if she’d ever met someone whose horoscope matched perfectly but they still treated me like crap. She paused… then admitted she had. That opened up space to talk about what actually matters — how someone treats you, if you feel safe, if the love feels real. I started setting small boundaries — like, 'I’m not asking you to approve yet, but I’d like to keep getting to know her.' You don’t have to burn bridges with your family, but you also don’t have to let a zodiac chart pick your partner. The right person won’t need to pass an astrology test to love you right.
