She said she loves me but not ready for relationship?

1

Arre, I don’t get it yaar. We’ve been talking for 8 months now, mostly late night calls, some meetups when she’s in Ahmedabad. She’s the one who said 'I love you' first, very suddenly during a fight. I was taken aback but also… happy? Then next day she says she’s not ready for a relationship. What even is that no? How can you say you love someone but not be ready? My mom keeps asking if there’s progress — you know how it is, uncles already asking when wedding. I told them it’s slow, but still… I’m 29, not a kid. We had one meeting with parents in mind, but she backed out saying she needs time. Time for what? To feel more confused? She says she wants space, but then gets upset if I talk to someone else. Very very confusing. I like her a lot, but this feels like being stuck in the middle of a road. Is this just modern dating nonsense or am I missing something? Bhai, please tell me if I should walk away.

my cousin went through something similar last year. girl kept saying she loved him but wasn't ready — turns out she was dealing with family pressure, anxiety, all that baggage. took me a while to get it but love and readiness? they dont always come together. i learnt this the hard way — i kept waiting, making excuses for her, checking my phone like a maniac every night. then one day she said she needed space. again. that’s when i stepped back. gave her six weeks of zero contact. guess what? she reached out — not to commit, but to talk properly. that’s when i asked straight — what do you want? what’s blocking you? you gotta do that. not pushy, just honest. and while you wait, live your life. go out, meet people, stop being emotionally stuck on loop. also — tell your mom the truth. not every 'I love you' means progress. sometimes it’s just someone saying they care… but can’t show up. my cousin? he moved on. better things came. you will too
