Want or Need Me?

1

Honestly, I'm really confused right now. My boyfriend got sponsored to work abroad and now he's been sending me money and stuff, which is really sweet of him. But like, I don't know if he's doing it because he really cares about me or if it's just because he feels guilty for leaving. Actually, we didn't even talk about our future together before he left, so I'm not even sure if we're still on the same page. So, I'm starting to wonder if he wants me or just the idea of having someone to take care of while he's away... and honestly, it hurts to think that maybe I'm just a convenience to him. I feel like I'm just waiting around for him to come back, but what if he doesn't?... and what if I'm just stuck in this limbo forever?

I’ve been there—got letters & little gifts from my ex when he was overseas and it felt nice until I realized he never asked how I was really doing. It was all one-way. What helped me was finally saying something simple like 'I miss you but I’m not sure where we stand—can we talk about what happens when you get back?' Straight up but not aggressive. He kinda dodged at first but I insisted. Turned out he was stressed & avoiding the convo just like I was. Once we actually talked we both admitted we’d been pretending everything was fine. You don’t have to figure it all out now but get a real conversation on the calendar—video call no excuses. Ask where he sees this going. If he can’t answer or brushes it off that’s your answer right there. And if you’re giving yourself a stomach ache over this he should know that too. Love shouldn’t leave you guessing
