So my ex came back from abroad and I don't know, he's just different. Like, I thought we were good, we were talking and stuff, but when he got back, it's like he's a stranger. He's very very quiet now and doesn't want to talk about what's bothering him. I already told him I'm here for him, but he just shrugs it off. My family's already asking when we're getting back together, but honestly, I don't know this person anymore. It's been a long long time since we've been together, but this feels different. I'm confused and a bit frustrated, like, what happened to him?

man i been sittin' with this one for a minute. my sister went through somethin' similar with her ex from back home. he came back after being overseas & it was like talkin' to a wall. she kept tryin' to fix it, cook for him, check on him, but he wasn’t meetin’ her halfway. what i saw? he was carryin' weight he didn’t know how to put down. sometimes people change out there — not for you, not against you, just... life happened. you can care all you want, but you can’t love someone back into who they used to be. if he ain’t openin’ up, that’s on him, not your worth. you don’t owe your peace to keep tryin’ to crack that shell. my cousin said the hardest thing was acceptin’ that the person she remembered was gone — & that’s okay. you allowed to miss who he was & still walk away. that don’t make you cold, it make you clear. i’d stop waitin’ for him to change back. focus on what you need.
